Job Description: Supply Chain Compliance Manager
Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all supply chain regulations, policies, and procedures governing transportation and logistics operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization's adherence to local, regional, and international regulations related to supply chain management. The Supply Chain Compliance Manager will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain effective compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain compliance strategies and programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
3. Stay updated on local, regional, and international regulatory changes impacting supply chain operations and proactively adjust compliance programs accordingly.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and document supply chain compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines.
5. Provide guidance and training to employees involved in supply chain activities to raise awareness and ensure compliance with established policies.
6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and external partners to stay informed of best practices and industry benchmarks.
7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of supply chain partners, including carriers, vendors, and suppliers, to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements.
8. Investigate and address any compliance-related incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
9. Develop and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system to document compliance activities, including audits, inspections, and training sessions.
10. Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain compliance management or a similar role.
3. In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, regional, and international supply chain regulations, including but not limited to customs, trade, transportation, and safety requirements.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory information and apply it to practical compliance solutions.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
6. Proven ability to develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and procedures.
7. Experience conducting compliance audits and assessments, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines and achieving desired outcomes.
9. Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools to streamline compliance processes.
10. Professional certifications in supply chain management or related fields (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution) are preferred.
